H.E. The Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Sheikh, has affirmed that the Ministry of Education is the
sole reference for issuing licenses and consultations in the International and foreign education instead of the Education Departments in the regions of the Kingdom. That is after establishing the General Department for International and Foreign Schools within the organizational structure of the Private Education Agency, with the aim of supporting investors in this important sector, developing and organizing governance, and working procedures of it.
His Excellency, said, after sponsoring the workshop of Investment in Private and Foreign Education: "This procedure is the start of a new phase in accelerating decision-making processes, serving investors in accordance with a clear and transparent vision, and flexibility in applying procedures, legislations and plans, in order to achieve the educational objectives in accordance with the diversity of the global programs in those schools". His Excellency stressed on the depth of long-term relations between the Ministry of Education and representatives of the private and non-profit sectors and investors in education in general and global education and foreign and private in particular, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, indicating that the Ministry spares no effort in providing all kinds of support and assistance to enhance investment aspects of education, and to expand the establishment of international schools and academies in accordance with the highest quality standards, in a way that enhances our educational outcomes.
His Excellency added, "We want to attract investors to operate special education schools with the ability to provide accommodation for students as boarding schools". He pointed out that education related to special education will have a special priority in the areas of global investment, which leads to diversity in the educational stage, and to meet the needs of specific groups of male and female students in different types and stages of education.
His Excellency pointed out that the Ministry of Education is looking to reconsider the criteria and requirements concerning the establishment of governmental and private educational institutions according to cities, villages and human density, in coordination with education partners in the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Civil Defense. At the same time, He presented his thanks for the success of this workshop to all participants from the representatives of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Ministry of Investment, Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (SMEA) –
