Organizational Link:

Administratively linked to His Excellency the Minister of Education.

General Objective:

To raise performance level of Education Departments in Regions and Provinces.

Nature of Work:

Evaluation and Follow-up of Education Departments and its Leadership.

Employment Level:

Authority of a Deputy Minister of Education.

Tasks:

First: Education Department Performance:

  1. Development of performance indicators of Education Departments by coordination with related authorities.
  2. Evaluation and Follow-up of Education Departments based on performance indicators with coordination of related authorities.
  3. Organize periodical Get-together and Meetings of Educational Leadership and follow-up their decisions.
  4. Study Reports of Educational Meetings of Regions, and Provinces, and Evaluate their Performance.
  5. Coordinate with Agency of Planning and Development for improvement of general performance plans of Education Departments.
  6. Conduct comparisons between Education Departments and Global-Scale comparisons.
  7. Organize Motivational and Competitive Awards for Education Departments.
  8. Follow-up preparations for beginning of the new Academic Year.

Second: Education Departments Leadership:

  1. Prepare Regulations and Standards of the Selection, Extension, and Exemption for Education Leaders in Education Departments.
  2. Build Database on Education Leadership in Education Departments, and on qualified caliber to lead Education Departments, and work on updating it regularly.
  3. Carrying out Secretariat tasks of Education Departments Committee in accordance with Organizational Regulations, and participate in their Work, and Follow-up the execution of their recommendations.
  4. Complete the procedure of Selection, Commissioning, Extension, and Exemption for Education Leaders in Education Departments. 
  5. Suggest Occupational Development Programs to improve performance of Leaders and Develop them professionally with coordination of Competent Authorities.

Third : Office of Secretary General:

  1. Organize Work Documents and Information related to the Secretariat and save it in ways, that facilitate easy and convenient retrieval.
  2. Follow-up procurement of items required by Secretariat from Transportation, Furniture, and Office Supplies and other needs with Relevant Organizations.
  3. Supervise Employees and Workers of Secretariat and prepare Performance Report of them, and train them by coordinating with related department in the Ministry.
  4. Prepare Periodical Reports about Activities and Accomplishments of the Secretariat and obstacles in performing them, and how to overcome them, and submit them to His Excellency the Minister.
  5. In addition, all other tasks given by Authorized Personnel.

Secretariat Sections Tasks:

First: Indicators and Studies Section:

  1. Development of performance indicators of Educational Departments by coordination with related authorities.
  2. Study unified reports of Educational Boards of Regions and Provinces and Analyze and Follow-up their decisions.
  3. Submit Annual Comparative Reports on performance of Education Departments, and work on comparative studies with their Global Counterparts. 
  4. Prepare Regulations and Standards of the Selection, Extension, and Exemption for Education Leaders in Education.

  1. Evaluation and Follow-up performance of Education Departments based on Performance Indicators with coordination of related authorities.
  2. Work on plans for improvement of General Performance of Education Departments with coordination of Ministry Agency of Planning and Development.
  3. Follow-up preparations for beginning of the new Academic Year.
  4. Carrying out Secretariat tasks of Education Departments Committee in accordance with organizational regulations, and participate in their Work, and Follow-up the execution of their recommendations.

Third: Education Leadership Affairs Section:

  1. Organize periodical Get-together and Meetings of Education Leadership and Follow-up their decisions.
  2. Organize Motivational and Competitive Awards for Education Departments.
  3. Build Database on Education Leaders in Education Departments, and on qualified caliber for leading the Education Departments and taking care of it by regular update.
  4. Complete the procedure of Selection, Commissioning, Extension, and Exemption for Education Leaders in Education Departments.
  5. Suggest Occupational Development Programs to improve performance of Leaders and develop them Professionally with coordination of Competent Authorities.
