Minister of Education Participates in Round Table Meetings Between Saudi and British Universities

The Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, took part in the round table discussions between Saudi and British universities today, in the presence of the Special Representative of the British Prime Minister for Education to Saudi Arabia, Professor Sir Steve Smith.
‏During the meetings, representatives of 17 top British universities, Saudi universities officials, and a large number of experts and specialists from senior education officials in university education institutions in the two countries discussed ways to enhance universality in education through student, faculty, and researchers’ mobility. Discussions also covered joint scientific research, and joint academic programs, in addition to strengthening educational, academic and research cooperation, sharing best practices and experiences between the two countries, and the developments of the Saudi-British strategic partnership in the field of education, which was launched in 2018.
‏The round table meetings between Saudi and British universities looked over ways to attract leading British universities to establish branches in the Kingdom to advance educational investment and the concept of global citizenship. The discussions also included mechanisms for preparing young people for the future of the local and global labor market, in order to achieve the objectives of sustainable development and the aspirations of the Saudi Vision 2030.
‏The Vice Minister of Education for Universities, Research, and Innovation, Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Sudairi and the Saudi Cultural Attaché to Britain, Dr. Amal Fatani, both participated in the round table discussions conducted at the Saudi Ministry of Education headquarters in Ma'athar.
