His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, sponsored today, Thursday, the closing ceremony of the “Madrasati Coding” competition 2021 in its first phase, where 15 education directorates, 32 schools, and 40 teachers were honored as the competition winners.
The General Supervisor of the General Administration of E-Learning and Distance Education in the Ministry of Education, Chairman of the "Madrasati Coding " competition committee, Dr. Ohud bint Abdullah Al-Faris, said in a speech on this occasion, "We have completed the first phase of the competition, achieving the desired goals in an effort to achieve one of the pillars of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and we aspire to soar the name of the nation at the tops of global competitions.”
Dr. Ohud Al-Fares added, "The honorable achievements that have been achieved raise the name of the Kingdom high at the regional and global levels". She noted that choosing the Kingdom among the best four global models in e-learning would not have been achieved without the support, attention and care of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - for the sector Education and its employees under the direct supervision, support and care of His Excellency the Minister of Education; to improve the educational environment, simulate innovation and creativity, improve students' requirements for 21st century skills, and enhance the efficiency and outcomes of education.
Al-Fares pointed out that the competition comes within the tireless efforts of the Ministry of Education to spread and promote the culture of programming and open the way for the educational community in particular and the local community in general to discover and unleash a passion for technology. Moreover, employing their skills in a positive manner and investing them in the industry of a multi-resource digital incubator in the near future.
Dr. Al-Fares mentioned that the competition was based on teamwork, and targeted participants at the level of education Directorates, schools, and teachers, indicating that diversity was taken into account in building standards to include activation, training, media and community participation, and grades were divided on the criteria according to their importance.
Dr. Al-Fares explained, "The second phase of the competition will be launched at the beginning of the next academic year, which will target advanced skills in programming and innovative design at the local level for male and female students to prepare participants at the global level, and provide a fertile environment for promising student projects.
In her speech on behalf of the teachers, the teacher, Hanan Al-Thaqeb, transferred the thanks of the education staff for the efforts made by the Ministry under the leadership of His Excellency the Minister of Education to maintain the continuity of education without interruption in light of the Coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, working to find appropriate educational alternatives, and directing education towards more successes. She asserted," The Madrasati Coding” competition is a successful event by all standards. The competition contributes to raising the level of performance of our sons and daughters, makes a leap of Quality in the process of developing education and improves its products by enhancing the digital skills of male and female students, enabling teachers to technically and programmatically manage the educational process and improve their students’ thinking, analysis and creativity skills.
The ceremony witnessed the screening of a video about the competition, honoring the winners from education directorates, schools, and teachers, and honoring the sponsors of the competition represented by M. Thamer Al-Harbi, President of Microsoft Arabia, and M. Khaled Al-Mutairi, Assistant CEO of TITCO.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Acting Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fehaid, a number of leaders and employees of the Ministry of Education, and the participating and sponsoring bodies of the competition.
