
His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh, met with a high-ranking diplomat at UNESCO and his counterpart from the Republic of Indonesia.
In a high-level discussion with UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini, Dr. Al-Sheikh talked about how the organization could enhance education cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
The dignitaries addressed supporting future collaboration pertaining to international cooperation, joint work, and an exchange of expertise and experience. The meeting also covered enhancing the educational system and advancing scientific research that will contribute to global prosperity.
In another high-level meeting, Dr. Al-Sheikh met with His Excellency the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Anwar Makarim. Dr. Al-Sheikh discussed methods of advancing the existing collaboration in education between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
The ministers also discussed establishing a solid and comprehensive partnership to leverage the developmental plans and programs implemented by educational institutions in the two nations. In addition, discussions included promoting the cooperation and partnerships in higher education, student scholarships, and scientific research and innovation.
Dr. Al-Sheikh has a full schedule of appointments at this year’s G20 Ministerial Meeting in Bali. There, education ministers from around the world are sharing best practices to improve the quality of education in their respective countries and empower the next generation of students to compete in a global workforce.
