The "Play to Learn" competition concluded today in the presence of HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Savvy Games Group; His Excellency the Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan; Mr. Brian Ward, CEO of the Savvy Group. The event also featured participation from various education leaders, Savvy Group representatives, students, teachers, and participating schools.

His Excellency, Dr. Saad Al-Harbi, the Vice Minister of Education for General Education, emphasized that the "Play to Learn" competition reflects the leadership's commitment to empowering students and enhancing their skills in technology, innovation, and the electronic games industry. He noted that education has transformed into a vibrant space for creativity, skill development, and transforming ideas into promising opportunities.
He clarified that the initiative represents a model of integration between the Ministry of Education and the Savvy Group, aimed at developing a generation equipped with future skills. This aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He highlighted the creativity and promising talents of students from various regions of the Kingdom, which were showcased in the competition.

The ceremony honored the winning team, which will have the opportunity to turn its idea into an interactive game by a team of professional game developers as part of a partnership between the Savvy Group and the Roblox platform. In addition, Savvy will provide participating students with tools and resources to support game creation for beginners.

It is noted that the number of participants exceeded 719,000 male and female high school students across the Kingdom, including more than 7,700 public and private secondary schools, as well as more than 36,000 male and female teachers. The competition included the submission of more than 155,000 creative ideas for educational video games, from which ten teams qualified for the final stage.
The competition is part of a partnership between the Ministry of Education and the Savvy Games Group. This initiative aims to support the development of games and esports, activate game-based learning tools in educational environments, and integrate game development into educational curricula in collaboration with the National Center for Curricula. Additionally, it seeks to include games in the “Madrasati" platform and promote talent development through scholarships, training, and entrepreneurship pathways to achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Games and Esports.
