His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, has affirmed that the “Future Leaders” platform is a promising national educational project, and an integrated program in several stages. It is created to provide opportunities for on –the- job academics, educators and administrators to run for leadership positions in the education sector. In addition to preparing them as a second row of leaders to occupy leadership positions in the Ministry of Education according to specific criteria, an accurate and transparent mechanism, and based on the principle of equal opportunities in selecting and attracting the national talents.
His Excellency said in a speech during his inauguration of the Future Leaders platform at the Ministry of Education headquarters, “The platform will receive and sort candidacy applications to fill the leadership positions and opportunities at the level of schools, education departments and offices, cultural attaches, and the Ministry of Education’s apparatus with a desire to invest the human capital in a better way. In addition to placing all the qualified on one line of competition in a broad horizon of equal opportunities, so that the candidates can be benefited from their full scientific and practical experiences in the service of their leadership, country and society.
The Minister Al Sheikh added that, "The platform keeps pace with the comprehensive development of the general education sector in the next stage; and its contribution to improving job succession processes and educational performance by aligning them with the comprehensive development goals and the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030". He pointed to the Ministry of Education’s tendency to provide all its services electronically in a manner that achieves transparency and equal opportunities and promotes competition to discover and attract promising leaders and leadership cadres to occupy leadership positions. This can be achieved in accordance with a governance policy consistent with international standards, and presented through an electronic platform that provides a mechanism for collecting data on candidacy applications and reviewing them accurately.
The Minister of Education indicated, "The platform provides the beneficiaries with a service to introduce the program, its objectives, the leadership positions available to applicants, and clarifies the mechanism for receiving candidacy applications, the stages of application, and evaluation processes aimed at selecting qualified cadres, attracting prominent competencies from the promising academic, educational and administrative leaders. Moreover, benefiting from their ambitious giving deeds to create a competitive educational future that fulfills the aspirations of our wise leadership in developing human capabilities and employing them in the service of education. He clarified, "This platform is the first digital version, and can be developed to ensure the optimum utilization of its use and provide leadership opportunities that are available to competitors with distinguished experiences.
The inauguration ceremony of the Future Leaders Platform has included introductory and visual presentations on the platform, and the mechanism for applying to it, with the participation of a number of officials in the education departments and educational occupants.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fahaid, the Acting Vice Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Sudairi, the Vice Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, and a number of officials in the ministry.
