The Ministry of Education has included the "financial knowledge" course within the curricula for the common first year of the secondary tracks.  The course of study has been introduced after studying the best international practices related to academic courses to prepare students to acquire the skills of the twenty-first century through a modern, global curriculum that fits the environment and culture of the Kingdom and keeps up with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. 
 The Ministry of Education, through the Curriculum Development Center, has adapted the English version of the book and provided it to students through the "Madrasati" platform to enable them to see the book in its English version that was prepared by the publisher. The Ministry has also provided teachers with a guide to facilitate the teaching process and help them use the correct strategies when teaching the course to students, in addition to preparing presentations for the teacher that contain enrichment materials and mental maps for each chapter in the book, which the teacher can use when starting to teach.
The new course of study will achieve many positives in the educational field by keeping pace with education development plans for global competitiveness. It will improve educational outcomes, which is one of the goals of the Human Capability Development Program, consider the national and realistic dimensions of the new curricula, as well as foster students’ knowledge and understanding of the concepts and terminology used in the labor market. It will also equip students with 21st-century skills and prepare them for future jobs by raising students' awareness of the pros and cons of their choices, in addition to developing a culture of planning for the future in a manner consistent with the student's interests and clarifying available job and investment opportunities.
The course's overarching goal is to raise the level of understanding and awareness among students concerning financial knowledge and the mechanisms for applying its skills to prepare a competitive citizen globally. This will be accomplished by introducing them to the concepts of the labor market, where they will learn to identify their most important sources of income and chart the way to manage money by identifying the basic needs and desires of the individual and learning about different purchasing strategies. In addition, the course teaches students to save up for the future by setting aside a portion of their income to deal with life situations caused by different economic conditions. It teaches them how to make a clear budget, keep records to keep track of the plans to be carried out, and grow their savings by investing them in the many investment opportunities available to the individual, as well as how to manage credit, determine the various types of credit available, and understand its advantages and disadvantages. ​​
