The Ministry of Education celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Friday that corresponds to December 3 of each year, as part of its continuous efforts to enhance learning outcomes for all categories of disabilities and to overcome all difficulties in their access to a distinguished and comprehensive education.
The Ministry's participation aims at publicizing the psychological and social needs of people with disabilities and the educational challenges they face, as well as highlighting education efforts to enable them to obtain appropriate education and training opportunities. The Ministry also seeks to integrate them with students in public education schools, in addition to expanding the opening of kindergartens and specialized centers, and activating the participation of the private sector. This contributes to achieving sustainable development goals and providing just and inclusive educational opportunities for all in accordance with the Saudi Vision 2030.
The Ministry of Education seeks to educate the community in general and families of the disabilities in particular of the rights and duties of their children, and the best ways to deal with them. The ministry endeavors to provide an outstanding education that guarantees them in the future to achieve their aspirations, and contributes to improving equal opportunities for them with the rest of the community, in addition to cooperating with many governmental and private agencies to qualify people with intellectual disabilities for the labor market and contribute to their employment.
The Ministry of Education is working to prepare human cadres capable of communicating with persons with disabilities and efficiently providing support and appropriate services to them, by training and rehabilitating them according to the latest scientific trends in this field. The ministry plans to open up prospects for cooperation with relevant regional and international bodies so that the special programs for people with disabilities serve as a scientific reference in the field of education, training, and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and workers who work with them. The Ministry has issued a number of guides supporting remote learning processes, such as the comprehensive guide for special education institutes, centers, and programs on the Madrasati platform, and the guide for work in the kindergarten stage for children with disabilities through the virtual kindergarten application.
