
His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, sponsored the Ministry’s celebration of World Teachers' Day, under the slogan “Teachers are at the heart of education Recovery”. This coincides with the global occasion that falls on October 5 of each year, and in appreciation of the role of teachers in building human beings and their dedication in performing their educational mission.
The ceremony has witnessed the honoring of a number of male and female teachers, in various education directorates, who have made stories of success and excellence during the Covid-19 pandemic in an appreciation from the Ministry for the role of male and female teachers in education processes, and the improvement of its outputs. The honoring has also come as a recognition of their efforts in preparing and developing the capabilities of the future generation, and actively contributing to the development of society and keeping pace with changes, and turning challenges into opportunities for success.
Ms. Manal Saleh Al-Saif presented the teachers' speech in which she emphasized that education in our dear country received great attention from the wise leadership - may God protect them. She stressed , "Male and female teachers are at the beating heart of education spirit and intellect , with the efforts they offer in serving and developing society, as well as promoting the values of moderation, pride in belonging to the homeland, and loyalty to its wise leadership. - May God support them - and building the Saudi competitive person globally. At the end of her speech, finally appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Education in supporting male and female teachers.
His Excellency honored Mr. Mohammad Al-Fifi, a teacher at the Riyadh Education Directorate for continuing to provide lessons to his students remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic despite his suffering of Cancer disease. The honoring included Mr. Mohammed Hamad Daghriri at Jazan education Directorate for going to the rugged and remote places in the high mountains in search of his students to train them on “distance education”. Mr. Mohammad Al-Da'adi, a teacher at Riyadh Education Directorate, and Mr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Zubaidi at Makkah Al-Mukarramah Education Directorate were also honored for giving lessons while they were admitted to the hospital.
The honoring included a number of teachers who suffered from kidney disease and did not delay in providing lessons and performing their educational mission despite undergoing dialysis. They were Mr. Khaled Akash from Al-Kharj, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Sabt from Al-Ahsa, as well as Mr. Sultan Fahd Al-Sarami from Al-Aflaj, and Mr. Hani Kaffas from Makkah Al-Mukarramah, along with Mr. Jaffin Al-Qahtani from the Eastern Region.
Female teachers who received distinction awards were also honored. They were Mrs. Bodour Hussain Al-Yafei for receiving the Hamdan Award in its twenty-third session for outstanding performance and the head-teacher Noura Al-Ghawari for receiving the Hamdan Award for the Distinguished Principal Category. Mrs. Lulwa Ali was honored for winning the distinguished Teacher Award at the level of the Kingdom and the Gulf, in addition to Noura Al Mughred for her dedication to conveying the message of teaching and learning, as she used to visit her students with disabilities at their residence and provide lessons for them.
The ceremony included a visual film highlighting the role of teachers in building generations and creating success and excellence stories, in the presence of His Excellency the Acting Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Saad Al Fehaid, and a number of leaders and officials of the Ministry.
