The Ministry of Education launches three educational investment initiatives at Cityscape Global 2025

The Ministry of Education announced today the launch of three new investment initiatives designed to enhance the role of education in urban development and improve the quality of life in modern residential neighborhoods. This announcement was made at Cityscape Global 2025 in Riyadh.

These initiatives align with the ministry's strategy to promote investment in the education sector. They aim to create appealing school environments that foster family stability and improve the integration of services within residential projects.

The initiatives involved launching three investment opportunities in collaboration with the National Housing Company (NHC) to create educational facilities within new residential communities. This approach reflects a unified vision of integrating education and housing to foster the development of sustainable communities.

The ministry also announced new educational investment opportunities to attract local and international investors to develop and operate high-quality schools offering modern, advanced educational services.

These initiatives involved activating the Educational Sports Facilities Investment Program, which allows for the utilization of school sports facilities. This program aims to transform these facilities into community and economic assets that benefit the population and improve service quality.

The Deputy Minister of Education for Investment, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hajri, confirmed during his participation in the sessions of the Cityscape Global 2025 exhibition in Riyadh that the education sector plays a crucial role as a partner in supporting real estate investment. He emphasized that it helps enhance the quality of life by providing attractive educational environments. These environments contribute to the stability of families in new residential neighborhoods and are essential in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Ministry of Education, according to Al-Hajri, is concentrating on creating school models that maintain high educational standards and foster sustainable environments. The aim is for schools to become central elements within residential neighborhoods, encompassing educational, cultural, and social dimensions. This approach positions schools as major attractions that enhance the sustainability of real estate projects and increase their economic value.

He pointed out that international experience demonstrates the direct correlation between school quality and property prices. Studies indicate that enhancing educational quality can elevate average housing values by as much as 6% and up to 15% in highly competitive major cities. Additionally, he pointed out that international reports from the UK, the US, and China reveal that exceptional schools can increase the prices of nearby properties by 8% to 15%.

Regarding the integration of education and urban planning, Al-Hajri emphasized that the ministry is collaborating closely with government agencies and real estate developers to ensure that schools are incorporated in the early stages of planning new residential neighborhoods. He noted that having a nearby and safe school is one of the most significant indicators of quality of life, as classified by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
