The National Finals of the World Robot Olympiad kicks off, featuring over 80 teams of talented students
The National Finals of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) kicked off today at the Ministry of Education headquarters in Riyadh. This prestigious event is organized in partnership with the Saudi Federation for Robotics and RC Sports, along with the Education Technology Development Company (TETCO). The finals are centered around the theme "Future of Robots and Space," which combines the integration of robots and artificial intelligence. The theme emphasizes their role in enhancing quality of life, improving communication, and supporting space missions.
A total of 83 teams, representing talented students from across the Kingdom, are participating in a two-day competition. This event is part of the Kingdom's preparations for the World Robots Competition, which aims to showcase the creativity and skills of young people in designing innovative solutions using robots and artificial intelligence technologies.
Participants in the final competitions will showcase 12 innovative projects in the Future Innovators category, along with 7 university projects. In addition, 33 teams will compete in the Robot Missions category, 5 teams in the Future Engineers category, 12 teams in Sumo Robots, and 14 teams in Robo Sports.
The Olympiad features six main categories, including Future Innovators, Robo Missions, Robo Sports, Future Engineers, Robot Programming Tasks, and Sumo Robots.
The competition consists of three stages, starting with the official training rounds, the judging rounds, and the closing ceremony. The closing ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, and will honor the winning teams in the national final of the World Robot Olympiad.
The organization of the national final of the Olympiad aligns with the Ministry of Education's efforts to enhance students' skills in artificial intelligence, programming, and robotics. It also supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to prepare an innovative generation capable of utilizing modern technologies to shape the future.
